There is a $30.00 registration fee plus tuition for the first two months of dance lessons due when registering. No drops will be accepted during the first two months to ensure fairness in scheduling. About Our Classes Creative Dance - Offered for ages 3,4,5. This class combines ballet, jazz, tap, and tumbling along with games and props to enhance the children’s coordination. (Must be 3 by September 1st) Creative Dance for 5 year olds - A combination class with ballet, jazz, tap, and tumbling. (For kindergarten age children. Must be 5 by Sept 1st) Core Classes: We suggest taking two of these technique-based classes per week. Ballet - Offered for ages 6 (must be 6 by September 1st) and up. Jazz - Offered for ages 6 (must be 6 by September 1st) and up. Tap - Offered for ages 6 (must be 6 by September 1st) and up. Acrobatics - Offered for ages 6 (must be 6 by September 1st) and up. Theatre Jazz – For dancers age 7 and over, jazz style used in musical theatre productions. Elective Classes: We suggest taking at least one core class in addition to your elective. Lyrical and Modern– For dancers age 7 and over, a combination of jazz and ballet. Street Dance – For dancers age 6 and over, the break dance movements of music videos. Voice and Theatre – Acting and vocal training, ages 6 and over, class placement according to age. Movement Therapy for children with Special Needs Flexibility for Teens & Adults Zumba for Teens & Adults High Energy and Competition Team – These performing teams consist of dancers from Brucie Klay’s Dance Center and are chosen by audition every spring. RECITAL 2011 June 3rd at the Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg Costume Fee Our procedure for collecting recital costume payments is as follows: We will be collecting payments beginning in November and ordering costumes in December to ensure a timely delivery. Costumes will be paid in three payments: November 1st - $25.00 per costume December 1st - $25.00 per costume January – Any remaining balance due on costumes This fee does not include tights or shoes and is a non-refundable payment. Measurements will be taken November and December of all dancers participating in the recital. We will be measuring the child’s bust, waist, hips and girth. If the child’s measurements are close to two sizes, the larger will be ordered. Costumes are not custom-made, some alterations may be needed. Any late orders taken after December will have $10.00 added to each costume. Pictures of the costumes will be displayed in our costume book, available in January. Recital Fee There is a recital fee in addition to costume fees that is due in February. This payment envelope is included in your payment booklet. Here is what the recital fee pays for: • Rental cost of facility • Professional technical staff: Stagehands, stage manager, house manager, security guards, lighting and music technicians, box office staff. • Rental of lighting and music equipment • Mandatory insurance coverage • Rehearsal Hall • Back stage manager • Performance quality recording of recital music • Stage sets • Administrative costs • Recital programs Tuition and Recital Payment Books You will receive a payment book at registration. This book will contain payment envelopes for all tuition and recital payments for the 2010-2011 dance year. |
